About this tool
Convert a temperature between Celsius, Fahrenheit and kelvin. Presets fill in the temperatures used most often for storing samples and reagents, from room temperature down to liquid nitrogen.
How to use it
- Enter a temperature and choose its scale, or pick a preset.
- Read the value on the other two scales.
Formula f(x)
K = °C + 273.15
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32 and °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
Worked example check your setup
A −20 °C freezer: −20 × 9/5 + 32 = −4 °F, and −20 + 273.15 = 253.15 K.
