About this tool

Convert a temperature between Celsius, Fahrenheit and kelvin. Presets fill in the temperatures used most often for storing samples and reagents, from room temperature down to liquid nitrogen.

How to use it

  1. Enter a temperature and choose its scale, or pick a preset.
  2. Read the value on the other two scales.

Formula f(x)

K = °C + 273.15

°F = °C × 9/5 + 32 and °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9

Worked example check your setup

A −20 °C freezer: −20 × 9/5 + 32 = −4 °F, and −20 + 273.15 = 253.15 K.
