Concentration Converter

Convert between molar units (M, mM, µM, nM) and mass-per-volume units (mg/mL, µg/mL, % w/v, ppm) using molecular weight.

g/molNeeded only to convert between molar and mass-per-volume units.

About this tool

Convert a concentration into every common unit at once. Conversions within the molar family or within the mass-per-volume family need no extra input. Converting between the two families needs the molecular weight.

How to use it

  1. Enter the concentration and choose its unit.
  2. Enter the molecular weight if you need molar and mass units together.
  3. Read the full conversion table.

Formula f(x)

cmass (g/L) = c (mol/L) × M (g/mol)

1 mg/mL = 1 g/L; 1 µg/mL = 1 mg/L; 1% w/v = 1 g/100 mL = 10 g/L. ppm is treated as mg/L, which holds for dilute aqueous solutions with a density near 1 g/mL.

Worked example check your setup

1 mg/mL of GHK (M = 340.38 g/mol) is 1 g/L ÷ 340.38 g/mol = 2.938 mM = 2938 µM.
